Iconic Auctioneers set to offer 17 special Porsches at its NEC Classic Motor Show sale next month

With the auction market still hot for classic Porches, Iconic Auctioneers’ sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show next month contains 17 examples of Stuttgart’s finest.

Iconic’s Penny Tyler told CCW: ‘The auction market has seen many fluctuations over the last few years but the average value of Porsches has continued to rise and generally remains strong. We know that the right quality of car will always attract the best price.

‘Hagerty’s UK Valuation tool reports Porsche as being the most searched-for make, (10.6 per cent of all searches); the appetite for Porsches is still out there’.

Stand-out lots in the sale include a UK RHD 1989 911 LE 930 – one of just 53 built with 'colour to sample' paintwork and interior – that has covered a verified 19,992 miles from new and has extensive service history. It’s estimate is £170-210k.

Porsche Central Operations designed and built the 1977 Porsche 911 3.6 911-50 as a one-off project to compete with other Porsche Centres as part of the 50 years of the 911 restoration competition. It has RS-spec suspension and the original 2.7 engine has been replaced by a 300bhp development 993 unit from the Porsche Technical Department, giving it a power-to-weight ratio equivalent to a race-spec 1974 Porsche RSR. It’s estimated at £170-190k.

For those who prefer transaxle Porsches, the sale also includes a 31k-mile 1981 924 Carrera GT (937), one of just 406 ever made.

These Porsches are among the 170 cars and 170 motorcycles that Iconic will be offering on 9-10 November.
