Hampson’s will be hoping that a 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback will bring a little Hollywood glamour to its Classic, Performance & Supercar Auction at Bolesworth Castle on 9 March when it offers it with a guide price of £140-£160k.

This 51,109-mile car is a faithful recreation of the 1967 Shelby GT500 from the 2000 film Gone In 60 Seconds starring Nicolas Cage. It also possesses the official sanction of the film’s producer, Denise Haliki, including her signature on the dashboard.

Classic Recreations of Flower Mound, Texas, built the car in 2009 by using an original 1967 Ford Mustang body shell. It features the full ‘Eleanor’ body kit, correct DuPont Pepper Grey paint and black Le Mans stripes and can count Arsenal footballer Thierry Henry among its previous owners; he had it between 2010 and 2019.

Hampson Auctions’ managing director, Zach Hamilton, told Classic Car Weekly: ‘I’m thrilled to bring VBY 356E to auction. With its cinematic heritage and incredible provenance of former ownership by a football legend, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts alike.’ Chris Frear
