This 1933 SS Jaguar II will be among the rusty gold in the barn find display at this year’s Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show at the NEC on 21-23 March.

Believed to be one of only three in the UK, the rare Jaguar was in storage for more than 50 years before YouTuber Tom Wilkes acquired it two months ago. He said: ‘The former owner had seen that I had made a couple of SS 100 bodies, wings and things in the past so he contacted me to see if I was interested in this car. He had owned it for 65 years and it sounded too good to be true so I went down as soon as possible to have a look at it.

‘It was all piled up so the plan is to build an inner structure, so I can bolt the wings on and get the doors and running gear on. I’d like to take it to a couple of shows to give people the opportunity to see a car like this up close before any work commences on it. Once work does commence you’ll never see this car in this state again.’
