A specialist in North Yorkshire is now running a night shift to keep up with demand and reduce the time that vehicles are with them in the bodyshop.

The Classic & Sports Car Centre’s James Szkiler told CCW: ‘We are continuously expanding all of our departments and our projects and restoration manager, Mike Francis, has developed our workshop and bodyshop facilities and created a new stores/parts department to improve efficiency.

‘The bodyshop has been expanded but we have reached the point where we do not have the space for any more employees in this department. As result we decided to run a night shift in early 2024 to keep up with demand and reduce the time that vehicles are with us in the bodyshop.

‘We have recruited four members of staff for the late shift and are looking to add at least another four painters, panel beaters and welders.

‘The original idea was to keep up with demand and maximise the use of the building around the clock but we have also found the nightshift incredibly helpful for the sales department. If you have an issue with a car at 5pm and its due out on delivery the following day, there’s a full night shift to fix it by morning.’
